“You really have to have the vision to be a great goaltender. If you don’t have great eyes and a great sense of where the puck is and great peripheral vision, I don’t see how you can be a goaltender in today’s game. I think Dynamic Edge is a great concept…I think it helps train people to become better athletes…it’s a great idea and I think it’s going to do wonders.”
Glen Sather – President and General Manager, New York Rangers
“Dynamic Edge is without a doubt the greatest training centre for developing a player’s vision skills and overall athletic awareness. As a former elite hockey player and professional lacrosse player I found the program very challenging and incredibly beneficial on many visual levels. As the owner of TDH, I have the opportunity to teach and advise young aspiring hockey players on the skills needed in order to reach that next level of hockey. There are many physical skills that can be taught but, quite often the difference from a good player to a great player is simply their vision on the ice. Teaching a player vision, eye-hand coordination, depth perception and peripheral vision has typically been a difficult task until now. Dynamic Edge has designed an interactive product that strengthens all aspects of vision – if you are looking to improve your game then look no further – Dynamic Edge will give you that competitive advantage and take your game to the next level.”
Shane Sullivan – VP Player Development, Top Draft Hockey
“As a goaltending coach, I have not seen off-ice training that directly relates and impacts a goaltender more than the Dynamic Edge program. As a goalie, there is nothing more important than having clear sight and perception of the puck and your surroundings. Dynamic Edge trains goaltenders vision to focus and react to the puck approaching them at a high velocity with clarity and confidence, giving them more time to make proper decisions and control their rebounds consistently. I recommend Dynamic Edge to every single one of my clients from peewee to Pro. I have seen first-hand the results in confidence and control over the course of a season with consistent vision training. Thank you Karen for the work you have done and will continue to do with my goaltenders.”
Charles McTavish – President and Chief Goaltending Consultant, Complete Goaltending Development Inc.
“If you can’t see the puck you’re not going to stop it. Well, not only do I want my goalies to improve their ability to see the release quicker and maybe concentrate on that puck better than they are right now, I also want them to be able to see what’s going on around them at the same time, and I see this training as something that’s really going to help them in their game…now I see them tracking the puck right into their glove.”
Tom Dempsey – Goaltending Coach, Ottawa 67′s
Client Testimonials
“The evaluation reports are detailed and informative. The reports have greatly assisted me in understanding how vision training is assisting my son in improving his game. My son has commented to me that he “feels sharper” and “better prepared” for difficult, fast shots. He told me that he has greatly benefited from his sessions over this past summer and he definitely wants to continue weekly sessions throughout the winter so that his current level of “sports vision” will be maintained and perhaps improve even more.”
Cathy Crosby – mother of Morgan Hudson – goaltender for Jr. 67′s Minor Midget AAA hockey team
“Although my son is already engaged in many different types of training for his goaltending position, he was immediately interested and keen on adding the sports vision training program! Six months later, he is still training consistently and is just as motivated. I have seen many indications that his steady progress and improvement has translated in to real life tangible improvements both in his goaltending and every day life. For example, his reaction speed has increased in every type of scoring situation, and I can also see an even higher level of confidence on the ice both in practices and games. Oh yeah, I also noticed that my son has become acutely aware of potential night driving hazards off to the side of the road such as lurching deer, which I myself have not noticed. So I can say vision training has made me a little more confident as well, since he is starting to ask for the keys to the car!”
Mark Saikaley – former Manager/Coach of minor hockey & AAA hockey teams, and father of Matt Saikaley – goaltender for EOJHL Athens Aeros hockey team
“Dynamic Edge has been one of my greatest kept secrets over the past 6 months. It immediately struck me as something different and full of potential. After the first evaluation, which was presented professionally and full of information, I knew it was something I had to continue. As my scores improved over the summer, to over double what I had first achieved, I noticed myself not only seeing the puck better, but I started being able to react to them much quicker, even to pucks that only showed up at the very last second (way out of my focused vision as well.)
Things that seemed unlikely at first, but soon became reality, was that the skills developed through Dynamic Edge training translated directly to my game as though it was designed solely for my position, even though all other athletes I have seen training there have experienced the same effect.
Dynamic Edge is truly an effective, universal way of not only improving your vision, but speed and reflexes to whatever approach you are trying to take.”
Matt Saikaley – goaltender for EOJHL Athens Aeros hockey team
“Karen and the folks at Dynamic Edge are terrific to work with. They provide a positive and motivational environment to work in. Since I started at Dynamic Edge, I have seen my game improve for the better. I find I can see through screens and am able to react to redirects and tips in front of the net much quicker. Backdoor plays become much easier because Dynamic Edge trains peripherals and your focus. If I had to sum up an explanation in one sentence it would be…there is no other training like the type you will receive when working with Karen.”
Joel Grills – goaltender for Arnprior Jr. B Packers hockey team
“I do everything I can to increase my chances of success. Everyone who wants to be the best needs to take advantage of this training. It has given me greater confidence on the court, knowing that I have done everything I can to prepare, especially under high stress situations, and to maintain concentration all the way to the end of the game.”
Chantal Carey – former goaltender for the Canadian National Handball team
“Since Patrick has been enrolled in Dynamic Edge there has been a marked improvement at school in that he is able to focus much more on his school work. His level of concentration and perception has definitely improved and he is showing more confidence.”
Linda Z, mother of Patrick, age 11
“I believe visual training is the most underrated and overlooked tool available to any serious athlete looking to take his or her game to the next level. Dynamic Edge’s visual skills training not only has helped me to track objects more quickly and accurately, it has greatly improved my hand-eye coordination, peripheral awareness, reaction time, and, most importantly, my ability to maintain focus for a full game. All of these factors plus working with a first class staff in a fun training environment has helped me to consistently perform at the top of my game. I recommend this program to every athlete looking for a significant edge over the competition.”
Jody O’Neill – freshman goaltender at Dartmouth College – former goaltender for the Smiths Falls Bears Junior A hockey team (2008)
“Since I started training with dynamic edge I have noticed a great improvement in my game. This training has allowed me to make saves I never would have thought I could make before. It also gives you the confidence in your peripheral abilities to slow the game down and keep tense situations under control. With the various training modes it makes you work on all aspects of situations you would face in games. For example, high stress environments or modes that require multitasking while continuing to push yourself to do the best you can. It is easy to train because you see your results immediately as you progress. As an athlete you want to gain every bit of an edge you can on the competition – dynamic edge most certainly provides you with the equipment.”
Dean Shepherdson – goaltender for Jr. A Senators hockey team
“When my son started vision training at Dynamic Edge there were two main characteristics that I noticed. After just a few weeks he seemed to be able to follow the puck with more ease both in practices and game situations – boosting his confidence. The biggest difference came two months into Dynamic Edge vision training, I really started to see that he was not only tracking the puck better he was able to react to the plays and game situations much faster making difficult saves look easy. The improvements in his focus, his peripheral vision and his ability to read the plays was well worth the time and effort. One of the great things from a parents perspective is that the training has no limit, each and every time my son goes for a session they encourage him to achieve higher and higher results, this push helps prepare him for those high pressure game situations.”
Ed Shepherdson – father of Dean Shepherdson
“On behalf of my son Aidan (age 11) I would like to take a minute to thank Karen and Peter for accepting him to train at their facility at such a young age. Over the last 4 months I have noticed a substantial improvement in his glove hand reflexes, and he seems to be reacting quicker to incoming pucks and rebounds. I noticed this spring season that he would pick up movement away from the play as well, and be more ready for the cross ice pass or back door play. He is much more aware of the whole ice surface and not just the puck. The most important thing that I’ve noticed is that he is a lot more confident, right from his first session with Karen he felt like he had a new tool in his so called “goaltending toolbox” and to him this gave him an edge over his competitors. Aidan will keep training with Dynamic Edge 3 or 4 times a week knowing that it will keep him ahead of the competition.”
Thanks Karen and Peter
